Soon Amore choir to perform three new world premieres!

Soon Amore choir is proud to be performing not one, but three new world premieres at our next concert on Sunday 7th July.

David Lancaster's music has been performed, recorded and broadcast internationally. Our performance of 'The Durham Proverbs' marks the beginning of David's ongoing cycle of 45 short pieces based on the 'proverbs' written by medieval monks in the blank spaces of hymns and canticles in the library of Durham Cathedral. The pieces will happen at various moments during the performance!

Hayley Jenkins' music is well-known to audiences of York 'Late Music' series; her new piece 'Letters' sets the short but powerful modern poem by American poet Christopher Poindexter.

Soon Amore will also be giving the first performance of 'Table of Grace' composed by our bass Michael Buck, setting words by Fay Saxton. The concert takes place at York Cemetery Chapel at 5pm. Tickets £8/5 available on the door.
